assistant tax manager and tax manager.
The Tax Accountant position is responsible for assisting with the preparation of income tax provisions,
income tax compliance, miscellaneous filings, tax account reconciliations and journal entries along with
special projects as needed. As a Tax Accountant with Teamshares, you will play a key role in leveraging
cutting-edge tax technology and automation tools to drive efficiency, accuracy, and innovation in our tax
processes.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
Timely prepare, file, and submit payments for income tax filings
Collaborate on the annual calculation and preparation of federal and state extensions utilizing OneSource Allocation and Apportionment platform
Assist with the annual preparation of federal and state corporate income tax returns utilizing OneSource Income Tax platform
Help with the preparation and maintenance of data used for apportionment and annual income tax returns including data uploads and book to tax calculations
Provide support with the calculation and dissemination of quarterly inter-company cash taxes to subsidiaries
Maintain tax calendar for company filing obligations
Manage correspondence from taxing authorities and respond timely
Research and stay current of changes to tax laws and other compliance related requirements
Assist with special projects and implementation of process improvement initiatives as required in alignment with Department and Company initiatives
Prepare 1099 forms for mailing to taxable recipients
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve tax workflow efficiency
Utilize data analytics tools to support tax planning and compliance
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to integrate new tax software solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
1-2 years accounting experience preferred but we welcome applicants with strong foundational knowledge and a willingness to learn
Experience with tax reporting software preferred
General ledger accounting experience preferred
CPA/CPA candidate a plus
Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint (and the Google equivalent) and knowledge of Excel
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software preferred
Ability to react in a fast-changing environment with multiple deadlines
Ability to quickly acclimate to new software
Ability to communicate effectively with a proclivity to educate across all company functions a must
Some travel required at least 1 to 2 times each year
