Tax Analyst

  • Prepares monthly and quarterly sales/use tax returns and ensures the returns and associated tax payments are made on a timely basis Reviews monthly tax accruals for appropriateness. (25-30%)
  • Answers technical questions about the application of sales and use taxes to specific transactions or invoices. Makes changes to sales and use tax rates in proprietary software. (10-15%)
  • Reviews tax holds on a daily basis and researches issues to resolve holds. (10-15%)
  • Assists with updating the monthly forecast for taxes. (10-15%)
  • Supports FERC regulatory reporting and rate case filings in regards to sales/use and property tax. Prepares Form 2 schedules related to taxes. (10-15%)

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (finance, business administration) or equivalent related work experience.  (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.)

 Two or more years of practical accounting experience, with at least one year of relevant tax experience. Experience with Vertex or tax engine software preferred.
