AI overview

Operate with high autonomy to enhance recruiting processes by hunting down exceptional talent in technical roles while contributing to People & Culture initiatives.

Join Proton and build a better internet where privacy is the default

Proton was founded in 2014 by scientists from CERN on a simple truth: privacy is a fundamental human right. Since then, we’ve built the world’s largest encrypted email service (Proton Mail) and expanded into Proton VPN, Proton Drive, Proton Pass, and Proton Calendar—tools used by millions globally to protect their freedom, fight censorship, and keep their data safe. In some situations, Proton has literally helped save lives.

We are profitable, independent (no VC control), and selectively hire from the top ~1% of applicants. Our 500+ team members across 50+ countries come from leading organizations and elite academic backgrounds. We move fast, keep hierarchy light, and prioritize impact over optics. If you want to do meaningful work with exceptionally high-caliber people, this is it. Join us and do work you can truly be proud of. Check our open-source projects here!

Purpose of the role:

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner  to join our Taipei office and help us raise the bar even higher. This is not an “order-taking” recruiter role. You will operate with high autonomy, navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions, and hunt down truly exceptional talent in both Taipei and Europe.

You will own the full recruiting lifecycle for technical roles, build relationships with hiring managers, use data to drive action, and represent Proton in the market. You will also contribute locally to People & Culture initiatives to strengthen our community.

What you will do:

  • Own full-cycle hiring —from sourcing to close

  • Build and maintain high-quality pipelines (no “maybes” clogging the funnel)

  • Proactively source and convert passive talent; inbound is not enough

  • Act as a true partner to hiring managers: advise, challenge, influence

  • Use data & metrics to diagnose issues and drive decisions; no storytelling without facts

  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience—transparent, respectful, efficient

  • Identify process gaps and fix them without waiting to be told

  • Contribute to employer brand efforts: events, content, partnerships

  • Participate in cross-functional People & Culture initiatives in Taipei

  • Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and support smooth handovers

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience in international environments
  • Proven track record hunting + closing strong passive candidates

  • You can run a full cycle autonomously across time zones and async

  • Strong communication + negotiation skills; you’re direct and persuasive

  • Data-driven mindset; you lean on facts, not vibes

  • Ability to thrive in fast, changing environments

  • Experience representing your company externally (meetups, job fairs, social media)

  • Fluent English, written and spoken

What we offer:
