Taiwanese Audio Transcription

TLDR

Engage in a critical role transcribing Taiwanese audio to support AI language systems while ensuring accurate representation of local speech and accents.

We are looking for you who are fluent in Taiwanese and English! Join a short-term remote project helping train AI language systems.

Your task in this project is to listen to audio recordings in Taiwanese then transcribe what you hear accurately. These recordings reflect how Taiwanese people actually speak, with different accents, ages, and speaking styles, and your work helps make AI understand local voices better.

If you’re comfortable working with audio, detail-oriented, and can commit a few hours a day, this project is for you.

What You'll be Doing?

  • Listen to Taiwanese audio clips and transcribe them accurately
  • Segment audio into natural speech units
  • Identify and label speakers when multiple voices are present
  • Add simple annotations (e.g. gender, age group, emotion)
  • Follow project guidelines to maintain high-quality outputs
  • Communicate actively with the Project Manager for clarifications

Project Details

  • Duration: 2 months
  • Time commitment: Around 4–6 hours per day
  • Onboarding Training: Mandatory (TBD, during office hours 9am–6pm GMT +8)

What do I need?

  • Bilingual in Taiwanese and English (required)
  • Comfortable reading and writing in both Taiwanese and English
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to understand various Taiwanese accents and speaking styles
  • Native and non-native Taiwanese speakers are welcome

  • Willing to ask questions when unsure
  • Laptop or desktop with a stable internet connection
  • Ability to manage your own time and meet deadlines
  • Willing to complete a pre-assessment as part of the screening process
    • A mandatory pre-assessment will be shared to evaluate whether your language proficiency meets the project’s quality standards.
