System Test Analyst

Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Work Type: Full-Time | On-Site

DoD 8570 Requirement: IAT Level I


JOB SUMMARY

The System Test Analyst serves as a senior analyst on the System Test Analysis team within the program’s National Team (NT). This role is responsible for analyzing system test event data, coordinating observations and issue resolution across development and test teams, and supporting verification and validation (V&V) activities. The position supports missile defense system performance assessment through data-driven analysis, tooling, and cross‑team collaboration.


SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform analysis of test event data and support coordination of observations and issue resolution across multiple development and test teams
  • Assist with coordination and communication with the customer related to test analysis activities
  • Support planning, scheduling, and development of verification and validation analysis tools
  • Assist with coordination, development, and maintenance of analysis and test tracking tools
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify meaningful metrics, patterns, and trends in missile defense test data
  • Apply statistical methods to validate or reject hypotheses using test datasets
  • Develop and support data visualizations, simulations, and system modeling efforts to support analysis outcomes
  • Assist test tool analysts with technical troubleshooting and test traceability analysis
  • Contribute to the development of straightforward technical solutions and provide actionable insights to decision makers
  • Ensure proper backup and archiving of test products and analysis datasets (backup data manager role)
  • Support software tool development used to evaluate software, algorithms, and processes

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience analyzing complex system test data and supporting verification and validation activities
  • Experience identifying metrics, patterns, and trends in large datasets
  • Ability to apply statistical analysis techniques to support test data evaluation
  • Experience using spreadsheets and associated tools for data analysis
  • Experience manipulating large datasets
  • Experience with software test and analysis tools
  • Experience supporting or developing software test and analysis tools
  • Object-oriented programming experience (e.g., Python, Java) or demonstrated ability to learn
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Experience using and maintaining relational databases
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or similar
  • Strong understanding of how data conveys insights and supports decision-making
  • Strong teamwork, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with message-based analysis of complex systems
  • Experience with Missile Defense System elements or components (Aegis, Patriot, GMD, THAAD, SBX) in test or operational environments
  • Experience using COTS modeling, simulation, and analysis tools
  • Experience developing and automating data management processes and tools
  • Python programming experience

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
