We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Systems & Test Engineering Summer Intern to join our medical device new product development (NPD) team. This role offers hands-on experience supporting the development of test methods, test fixtures, and verification activities for innovative medical technologies. The intern will collaborate cross-functionally with systems, mechanical, electrical, and quality engineers to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

In This Role, You Will:

Support development of verification test methods aligned with product requirements and risk controls
Assist in designing, building, and validating test fixtures and setups for functional, performance, and reliability testing
Execute verification testing and document results in accordance with quality system procedures
Analyze test data with statistical methods, and summarize findings in clear, concise reports
Collaborate with cross-functional NPD teams to troubleshoot issues and refine test approaches
Contribute to design reviews by providing test strategy input
Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) and internal quality procedures

Requirements:

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
Incoming Junior or Senior preferred

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with laboratory testing or instrumentation
Exposure to CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)
Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Minitab)
Understanding of design controls and medical device regulatory frameworks
