Systems Engineer – M365 & On-Premise

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Systems Engineer to join our Corporate IT Services team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, particularly in hybrid environments that bridge on-premise infrastructure with Microsoft 365 cloud services. This role is critical in maintaining and evolving our Exchange Hybrid setup, identity management systems, and virtualization platforms. 

Exchange Hybrid Management: 

• Maintain and optimize Exchange Hybrid environments. 

• Support migration and coexistence strategies between on-premise Exchange and Exchange Online. 

• Troubleshoot mail flow, hybrid connectivity, and directory synchronization issues. 

Identity & Access Management: 

• Administer and enhance hybrid identity solutions using Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID. 

• Implement and manage conditional access policies, MFA, and identity protection. 

• Ensure secure and compliant identity lifecycle management. 

Virtualization & Infrastructure: 

• Manage and maintain VMware environments. 

• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity planning of virtualized workloads. 

Security & Compliance: 

• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for data protection and compliance. 

• Support integration with Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance. 

Automation & Configuration: 

• Contribute to infrastructure automation using Configuration as Code principles. 

• Utilize tools such as Desired State Configuration, Azure, and Git for deployment, version control, and infrastructure management. 

• Document and standardize configuration processes. 

Monitoring & Observability: 

• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for hybrid environments. 

• Leverage tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Log Analytics, or other observability platforms to ensure system health, performance, and security visibility. 

• Proven experience with Exchange Hybrid environments. 

• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID in hybrid setups. 

• Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization. 

• Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 services and administration. 

• PowerShell scripting and automation, Desired State Configuration 

Certifications: 

• MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator 

• MS-203: Microsoft 365 Certified Messaging Administrator Associate  (Retired but still acceptable)

Nice to Have: 

• AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions 

• Knowledge of Configuration as Code tools and practices: PowerShell DSC, M365 DSC, Azure DevOps, Ansible and Terraform. 

• MS-102 : Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Security & Purview Products. 

• Experience with Active Directory design and optimization.
