Currently, RII is seeking a motivated, mission-oriented Systems Administrator II to join our team supporting critical operations in secure facilities at our office located in the Forum Building. We are seeking a hands-on, mid-level Systems Administrator II who can independently administer, troubleshoot, and secure Linux, Windows, and VMware environments in classified settings. This role is for an operator who enjoys deep technical work and takes ownership of system reliability, patching, hardening, and troubleshooting in high-stakes environments. This role requires an active US TS/SCI security clearance. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Independently administering and troubleshooting SELinux (RHEL 7/8+) and Windows Server systems in offline/air-gapped classified environments.
  • Performing operating system hardening using DISA STIGs and SCAP tools, validating findings, and remediating vulnerabilities with an understanding of security impact.
  • Building, patching, and maintaining physical and virtual servers and workstations (Windows and SELinux).
  • Administering VMware vCenter and ESXi environments, including patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting in offline/air-gapped networks.
  • Managing Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, service accounts, and authentication issues.
  • Performing system and security log analysis, identifying root cause, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Applying RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls to support ATO maintenance for SELinux, VMware, and Windows systems.
  • Supporting vulnerability scanning, auditing, patching cycles, malware scanning, and documentation of results.
  • Managing and troubleshooting network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) in DoD-compliant environments.
  • Producing and maintaining technical and security documentation aligned with government contractor standards.
  • Providing direct technical support and guidance in secure facilities.
  • WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on Linux and Windows system administration in production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage users, services, logs, storage, and system troubleshooting on SELinux systems.
  • Hands-on experience administering VMware vCenter and ESXi hosts, including patching and upgrades.
  • Experience implementing and remediating DISA STIGs and validating results using SCAP tools.
  • Experience administering Active Directory and troubleshooting authentication and GPO issues in mixed Windows/Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing firewalls, network switches, and routers.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and host-based security tools (AV, HIDS/NIDS, SIEM).
  • Experience supporting RMF, IA controls, and ATO-related documentation.
  • Ability to work independently in classified environments with minimal supervision.
