The Systems Administrator will serve as a reference point for all advanced IT-related queries and troubleshooting at the user level and provide intermediate support for network, server and information security issues. Responsibilities

  • Install and configure server hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  • Troubleshoot server hardware and software issues.
  • Ensure strong authentication levels (e.g. MFA) for internal and client systems.
  • Recommend, repair or replace damaged server hardware.
  • Upgrade systems to enable compatible software on all computers.
  • Install and upgrade endpoint security software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Perform tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • Provide support to users and act as a point of contact for error reporting.
  • Establish good relationships with clients.
  • Conduct backup operations and validation.
  • Manage client security and redundancy testing.
  • Manage technical documentation.

  • Supported vendor knowledge is to be maintained to ensure that you can always provide the most effective and current solutions for software, hardware, security, redundancy, and systems that improve the client’s experience with technology.
  • You are to always ensure the safety of yourself, peers, clients and client’s equipment when performing tasks in the First Focus office or at the client’s premises.

Requirements

The Systems Administrator should have the following skills, education, and experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in computer networks, deployment, and systems maintenance.
  • Aptitude for understanding cloud services, especially Microsoft 365.
  • Thorough understanding of protecting information security of cloud services and local servers.
  • Proficient in computer hardware configuration and technical terminology.
  • Experienced in endpoint device management (MDM) configuration and fleet deployment.
  • Network, security, or supported systems certifications are valued.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with macOS and Windows operating systems.
  • Advanced experience installing and configuring mainstream user software.
  • Advanced experience with domains, DNS, mail accounts, and website hosting.
  • Advanced routing, switching, and wireless diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced operational skills and certification in all supported vendor systems.
  • Attention to detail and care when working with technical equipment or devices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

Remuneration

First Focus will remunerate between $85,000.00 and $95,000.00 gross per annum (plus superannuation), based upon certifications, experience, and skillset, for the Systems Administrator position.
