System Engineer (Backup) (REF4530G)

• Design, implement and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions using IBM TSM/Spectrum Protect and Veeam, ensuring data protection across virtual, physical, and cloud environments.
• Perform backup scheduling, retention policy management and capacity planning, aligning with RPO/RTO requirements and compliance standards.
• Monitor and troubleshoot backup/restore operations, proactively identifying issues and resolving failures to ensure high backup success rates and data availability.
• Integrate and optimize backup processes for critical databases, including SAP HANA (via Backint), Oracle RMAN, and other enterprise workloads.
• Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to ensure consistent and reliable data protection strategies for business-critical systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks, configuration guides, and audit reports, while leading DR test exercises and compliance checks.

• Strong understanding and at least 3 years experience of backup software (IBM TSM/Spectrum Protect and Veeam), storage technologies (SAN, NAS), and networking concepts.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Capability to interpret backup logs and reports, identify trends, and proactively address potential problems.
• Ability to collaborate with other IT teams and effectively communicate technical information.
• English language knowledge.
• Participation in On-Call duty.
