System Administrator (Mid Level)

We are looking for a System Administrator to join our growing team at fme Romania. In this role, you will help maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, and network infrastructure, ensuring everything runs smoothly and securely.

🖥️ What you will do:

• Install and configure software and hardware;
• Manage network servers and technology tools;
• Set up accounts and workstations;
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements;
• Troubleshoot issues and outages;
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls;
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models;
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies;
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies;
• Work remotely from Cluj as part of an international German team, with clear ownership of project component.

Requirements

🖥 Technical Skills:

• Proven experience of 2-3 years as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role;
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office 365 environment;
• Experience with networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management;
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery;
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms;
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving attitude;
• Proactive approach, focused on solutions.

🌍 Language:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
• German is a plus.

🌐 Preferred qualifications:

• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science represents a plus (other disciplines are also accepted);
• Experience with databases;
• Professional certification- e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA);

• Excellent communication skills.
