We are looking for several ​System Administrators​ on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in ​​​the Netherlands. This position is intended to be filled on a 100% off-site basis from anywhere within the EU.

Our client is a major European organization operating in a complex, multi-site environment. Its IT department plays a key role in maintaining and evolving systems that support business processes, collaboration, and innovation.  The scope of the role is to be responsible for managing and maintaining an organization’s IT infrastructure, focusing on servers, storage, operating systems, and data protection. The role also ensures that systems operate efficiently and securely to meet business needs. 

 

Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). 

 

The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: 

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) on servers and desktops; 

  • Manage system updates, security patches, and software installations; 

  • Monitor system performance and resolve OS-related issues;

  • Manage storage systems such as SAN, NAS, and cloud storage; 

  • Implement backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability; 

  • Design and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of system failures; 

  • Maintain and troubleshoot physical hardware, including servers, desktops, and peripherals; 

  • Manage / perform server hardware setup, replacement, software and hardware upgrades including security patching; 

  • Oversee hardware procurement and configuration for organizational needs; 

  • Enforce security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring; 

  • Identify vulnerabilities and apply patches to protect systems from security threats; 

  • Monitor logs and system activity for any unusual or malicious behavior; 

  • Strong skills in monitoring and observability, with the ability to build in monitoring and alerting tools and routines and to perform proactive monitoring of the service area; 

  • For all above listed technologies, System administrators are responsible to support all architecture and design changes, perform implementation activities and execute all testing tasks related to disaster recovery of the client.

Requirements

Please ensure that your CV clearly explains how you meet the mandatory requirements. If it doesn’t align completely with the essential criteria, it could result in rejection. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; 

  • LINUX administration certification, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), SAN administration certification or relevant certifications specific to client’s used technologies; 

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience;  

  • At least 3 years of experience in system administration and customer facing roles; 

  • Several years of experience in large-scale endpoint management; 

  • Strong understanding of operating systems, storage management, backup solutions, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), and hardware troubleshooting; 

  • Experience with Windows OS (10/11); 

  • Experience with MECM/SCCM for endpoint management; 

  • Experience with Intune for mobile and device management; 

  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (AD/GPO); 

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation; 

  • Strong scripting skills; 

  • Experience with patch management processes; 

  • Ability to analyse and solve technical issues efficiently; 

  • Clear and patient communication, both written and verbal, to guide users through resolutions; 

  • Focus on delivering a positive user experience; 

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support tickets simultaneously; 

  • Flexibility in learning new technologies and handling different types of issues; 

  • Working effectively with other IT professionals and departments; 

  • Accuracy in documenting issues and following up on tasks; 

  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU; 

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
