SWB Operator (Switchboard Operator) 

In the role of SWB Operator at Grand Hotel Timeo, a Belmond Hotel, you will be the central communication hub of our iconic property. You will be an essential part of the Front Office team, responsible for handling all internal and external calls with the utmost courtesy and efficiency, ensuring all guest and colleague requests are directed flawlessly. Primary Responsibilities Include 

• Answering all internal and external telephone calls promptly and professionally, adhering to Belmond standards. 

• Directing calls accurately to guest rooms, departments, and colleagues. 

• Managing guest requests (e.g., wake-up calls, room service inquiries, housekeeping requests) and logging them in the appropriate system. 

• Acting as a communication hub during any emergency or critical situation. 

• Assisting with administrative tasks and providing support to the Front Office team as needed. 

• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of all hotel services and local information. 

Requirements

What You Bring: 

• Previous experience as a Switchboard Operator or in a guest-facing hotel role (Front Desk, Reservations). 

• Exceptional telephone etiquette and a clear, professional speaking voice. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively. 

• Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus. 

• Proficiency with hotel systems (PMS, PABX) and strong multitasking abilities.
