What We’re Looking For:
Meltwater, a global software as a service company, We’re looking for a hands-on Software Engineer (IC Level 3 or 4) to help us design, build, and run backend systems focused on data ingestion, transformation, and movement across our platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working deep in the backend connecting systems, building reliable data flows, and owning services end to end. You’ll work primarily in the JVM ecosystem (Java/Kotlin), building event-driven pipelines and internal tooling, with some exposure to

What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain backend data ingestion pipelines and internal tooling.
- Implement and evolve event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar broker systems.
- Connect and orchestrate data flows across multiple services, platforms, and cloud environments.
- Build supporting APIs where required to expose or manage data flows.
- Develop backend services using Java and/or Kotlin within the JVM ecosystem.
- Debug, profile, and optimize applications for reliability and performance.
- Deploy and operate systems on Azure and AWS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Work in Kubernetes environments, including debugging live workloads.
- Build and maintain observability (metrics, logs, dashboards, alerts) using tools like Grafana.
- Own systems end to end with a build-it-run-it mindset, including production support.
- Proactively improve systems, processes, and technical foundations.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong team culture.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong experience building and operating backend systems, preferably in product-focused environments
- Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with observability/monitoring tooling
- Strong sense of ownership and willingness to maintain systems (including dependency upgrades)
- Fast learner with a collaborative and proactive mindset
