About the role: What's in the Box

The DACH Portfolio Management team (in charge of menu planning & value-added products strategy) is looking for a mid-level expert to join its rank ! This role is a unique blend of strategic and hands-on operational management: As a Portfolio Management Expert, you will take direct ownership of the ingredient strategy and SKU management for HelloFresh DACH. Reporting to the Team Lead of Portfolio Management, your primary focus will be the strategic oversight of our SKU lifecycle—balancing budget constraints, managing SKU complexity, ensuring the commercial viability of every ingredient in our portfolio, as well as process optimization & standardization of the SKU management function. We are looking for someone that has hands-on experience in operational excellence to craft the strategy but also be able to execute it.

As part of the role, you will work very closely with other departments along the supply chain with strong collaboration with teams such as Recipe Development, Menu Planning, Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure smooth ingredient integration, which gives you the opportunity to continuously develop personally and professionally. 

This role is available for a 24 month contract (extension possible) 

What you’ll do: The Recipe

• Strategic ingredient management and analyses
  • Own the ingredient and SKU strategy, including portfolio and budget management
  • Enable menu expansion while keeping SKU complexity low
  • Lead initiatives to reduce menu risk, food waste, and supply disruptions across the value chain
• Operational ingredient management 
  • Support operational SKU management (on-/offboarding, FSQA alignment, tenders, menu changes)
  • Build accurate SKU forecasts and improve demand planning transparency
• Drive process improvements and automation across product and supply chain operations

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients

• You studied business or industrial engineering, or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on supply chain or operations management. 
• First 1-2 years of experience in ingredient, SKU, product, or supply chain management
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with an operational mindset
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with culinary, product, and procurement teams
• Experience with forecasting, demand planning, or supply chain data. Proficiency needed in Google Suite, SQL knowledge and interest in GenAI a plus
• A hands-on, ownership-driven approach in a fast-moving environment
• You are fluent in English, German is a plus
