MANAGER OPPORTUNITY!

Do you have experience working with people with a learning disability living in their own homes?

We are looking for two experienced leaders of services for people with learning disabilities, to manage a cluster of services in Swansea.

About Perthyn

Perthyn is a not-for-profit organisation providing person-centred support to people with learning disabilities and autism. We believe in empowering people to live fulfilling lives in their own homes and communities, guided by our values: Integrity, Empowerment, Innovation, Accountability, Inclusivity, Belonging, Accomplishment, and Resilience

About the Role

We are recruiting two Supported Living Managers to join our well-established team in Swansea. Each role involves managing two homes and leading a team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.

One role focuses on supporting people with physical and health-related needs, including manual handling and stoma care, while promoting independence and choice. The other role supports people with autism, requiring structured routines, proactive communication strategies, and positive behavioural approaches.

Working closely with your Regional Manager, you’ll have the guidance and resources needed to succeed, while benefiting from integrated support across departments. You’ll champion the Active Support Model, ensuring people are involved in all aspects of their lives and promoting meaningful engagement and community connections.

Your responsibilities will include implementing person-centred plans and health plans, conducting regular Person-Centred Reviews, and evidencing outcomes that reflect individual goals and aspirations. You’ll support your team to develop structured activity plans and maintain a consistent approach that evolves over time.

Previous experience of working with people who have additional mental health, physical support, and communication needs, alongside learning disabilities, would be highly desirable. You will join a team of four other Supported Living Managers in a well-resourced region, with access to inter-departmental expertise and a Management Development Programme to enhance your leadership skills.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you will need to travel within South Wales and participate in regular on-call duties as part of the wider management team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Supported Living Manager, you will:

  • Lead and inspire your team to deliver exceptional support that promotes independence, choice, and inclusion.

  • Manage staffing, budgets, and compliance with regulatory and health and safety standards.

  • Coach and mentor your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Work in partnership with families and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Promote active support and community involvement, ensuring people live meaningful lives.

This role requires resilience and adaptability, as you’ll support your team through day-to-day challenges while maintaining a focus on long-term goals.
