Supply Chain Planner (Manufacturing Planning exp req) Description

Our client in the food manufacturing industry is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to add to their team in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will own short-interval production planning and keep customer orders flowing on time. You’ll convert forecasts and orders into a practical schedule, balance capacity and inventory targets, and adjust quickly when shortages, changeovers, or priorities shift. Success in this role requires strong manufacturing planning experience, comfort working cross-functionally, and the ability to make clear tradeoffs using data. Supply Chain Planner (Manufacturing Planning exp req) Responsibilities

•    Build and publish a rolling 1–2 week production schedule
•    Turn forecasts and orders into an executable master plan
•    Partner with sales on a 3-month rolling forecast for key accounts
•    Balance labor, line capacity, changeovers, and lead times
•    Commit delivery dates for make-to-order items using real constraints
•    Set and manage safety stock and finished goods inventory targets
•    Track plan vs. actual output and escalate gaps and constraints
•    Maintain planning data like yields, lot sizes, and WIP status
•    Support traceability and mock-trace exercises as needed
•    Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and month-end close tasks

Senior Buyer (Food Manufacturing / Protein) Qualifications

•    3+ years of production or supply planning or master scheduling experience required
•    3+ years of manufacturing industry experience required
•    ERP/MRP system experience required
