We are seeking a passionate and experienced Production Manager to join our dynamic Bilthoven team, helping us lead the way as the global leader in orthobiologics.
Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations in Bilthoven, The Netherlands. This includes strategic and day-to-day oversight of Customer Service, Warehousing & Distribution, Procurement & Purchasing, S&OP, Supply Chain Planning, Analytics, and MRP systems. The role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction across international markets while aligning with global supply chain strategies in the med tech sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the supply chain strategy in alignment with global objectives and working closely with US Supply Chain.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a key member of the Bilthoven Operations team.
- Lead a team of >5 direct reports
- Responsible for the Global S&OP process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans.
- Ensure an integrated and data-driven approach to demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory performance
- Responsible for collaborating on a structural and professional level with commercial, finance, and manufacturing teams to balance service levels and working capital.
- Responsible for OUS customer service operations to ensure timely, compliance, and high-quality order fulfillment.
- Drive customer-centric initiatives to improve service levels and satisfaction.
- Responsible for third-party logistics (3PL) partners and internal distribution centers.
- Ensure compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practices) and local regulatory requirements.
- Optimize inventory levels and warehouse performance across regions.
- Responsible for the Late stage customization process
- Lead strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management for OUS operations.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Oversee Component and raw material planning to ensure component availability.
- Responsible for the yearly budgeting process for Supply Chain
- Manage Supply Chain Cost Center reporting (Actuals versus Budget)
- Collaborate and plan for new country introductions/markets or regulatory compliance (e.g. labelling) in collaboration with QA, RA.
- Develop and implement data-driven supply chain analytics to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the supply chain and identify areas for improvement.
- Leverage advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Python) to enhance visibility, forecast accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives and promote a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure effective use of MRP systems to support production planning, inventory control, and procurement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and planning teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and material availability.
- Drive system improvements and training to maximize MRP effectiveness and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience in the med tech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in implementing supply chain analytics and digital transformation initiatives.
- Background in strategic sourcing, purchasing, negotiations and supplier management.
- APICS/CSCP or similar supply chain certification would be considered as a bonus.
- Hands-on experience with MRP systems and inventory planning.
- Proven track record in working with global or regional supply chain operations.
- At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
