Pinterest’s success depends on the strategic management of our key third-party suppliers who support our global Sales and Marketing functions, including agencies, technology platforms, and creative BPO (business process outsourcing) partners. As the Supplier Management Lead supporting Sales and Marketing and potentially other critical suppliers you will be responsible for developing and executing a best-in-class supplier governance program and supporting performance and success with critical partners across Pinterest. This role will ensure our supplier relationships are optimized for value, performance, risk management, and alignment with our business objectives, directly supporting the teams responsible for driving revenue and brand growth.
What You'll Do:
-
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Execute and implement a centralized Supplier Management framework specific to the needs of the Sales and Marketing organizations and potentially other orgs as needed. This role will require a focus on streamlined onboarding teams to our Governance Model, partnering with business teams on performance monitoring and compliance.
-
BPO Program Leadership: Lead the performance management, issue resolution, and scaled partnership development for critical Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) programs supporting the global Sales and Marketing functions.
-
Performance Management: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for critical suppliers. Lead/support regular business reviews (QBRs) to drive continuous improvement, optimization, and innovation.
-
Risk & Compliance: Partner with Legal, Finance, Compliance and Security teams to ensure supplier adherence to all contractual, data privacy, and security requirements. Proactively identify, mitigate, and lead initiatives to resolve supplier-related risks and escalations.
-
Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as the primary point of contact between Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and our strategic suppliers. Provide guidance and expertise to internal teams on effective supplier utilization and relationship best practices. This role may interact with stakeholders of all levels at Pinterest including executives. Managing partnerships at all levels is necessary to be successful in this role.
-
Contract Management Support: Work closely with Procurement and Legal to support the contracting lifecycle, focusing on optimizing performance related terms and governance language.
What we are looking for:
-
Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Supplier Management, or 7+ years equivalent experience in Supplier Relationship Management, Vendor Management, Strategic Sourcing, or a related role, with a strong focus on supporting Sales, Marketing and other functions at a global scale.
-
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the supplier landscape for Sales and Marketing (as well as the broader supplier relationship management industry) including digital media agencies, creative production, ad-tech platforms, and market data providers and BPO (business process outsourcing providers).
-
Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives and external supplier leadership. A strong ability to both give and receive critical and constructive feedback without compromising relationships. Proven ability to deescalate situations and move them to resolution, ensuring partnerships remain healthy and successful while still ensuring we are clear about business needs and areas of improvement.
-
Analytical Skills: Proven ability to define metrics, analyze supplier performance data, and translate data into actionable business insights.
