The Supervisor, Logistics plays a key role in leading and managing daily site-based logistics tasks like receiving, inventory control, order picking, packaging, and shipping. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to capably perform each of the following essential duties:

  • Provide daily supervision and direct support to logistics staff across receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, safety, engagement, and efficiency
  • Lead personnel activities for direct and indirect reports, including staffing, onboarding, training, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and goal setting aligned with business initiatives and key performance indicators like cycle counting and outbound order accuracy
  • Ensure labor and operational resources are effectively allocated to meet service, quality, and customer requirements
  • Act as a key partner to cross-functional collaborators to meet daily operational priorities and drive continuous improvement
  • Own and lead site inventory control activities, including cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and ongoing inventory management practices
  • Monitor, analyze, and report functional benchmarks through the use of a daily management system (DMS), identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including the resolution of shipping delays, import/export issues, stock discrepancies, customer complaints, and nonconforming material root cause investigations
  • Actively support and align with site quality management system requirements and applicable regulatory standards
  • Enforce company safety policies and promote documentation of near-miss events
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support evolving business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Progressive work experience in small-package shipping and receiving operations, both domestic and international
  • Fundamental understanding of packaging materials, systems, and processes
  • Proven experience and proficiency in writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or work instructions
  • Previous professional experience in a controlled quality setting (ISO 13485 preferred)
  • Proven track record in participating in or leading cross-functional programs or projects
  • Demonstrated behaviors to effectively lead, manage, and motivate team members and provide technical mentorship
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including comfort interacting with internal and external audiences at all levels of an organization through various methods/mechanisms
  • Effective computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience working with information technology, including ERP or shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS)
  • Professional forklift and dangerous goods certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain and/or operations management
  • Previous experience managing people in a logistics or warehousing setting
  • Established track record of managing cold-chain material handling and inventory across domestic and international shipments
