Vast is looking for a Supervisor, Fluid Systems Manufacturing, reporting to the Director of Fluid Systems Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location
Responsibilities:
- Manage the technician team building cutting-edge life support systems for Haven
- Oversee Operations, owning the end-to-end product lifecycle and ensuring high quality and at-rate production
- Collaborate on design, implementation and maintenance of the ECLSS Manufacturing workcenter
- Collaborate with quality assurance and manufacturing engineering teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes for manufacturing
- Establish and enforce standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standardized repair procedures across production
- Challenge existing production and design requirements for ECLSS assemblies to drive process improvement
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with complex assembly manufacturing in a fast-paced environment
3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience (internships and extracurricular experience is applicable), preferably in the aerospace, Oil and Gas, or Pharmaceutical industry
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience leading technician/operator teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Experience building tools to track and report production metrics
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Comfortable working in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and KPIs for production
- Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting fluids components and systems is desirable
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
