We're looking for a motivated IT summer trainee to develop a GenAI-powered chat solution that could transform how customers interact with Konecranes.com.

We are looking for a Summer Trainee, IT who will be designing and building a prototype intelligent chatbot to replace our current live chat system. This is a unique opportunity to work with modern AI technologies and make a real impact on our digital customer experience. The position is based in Turku with the possibility to work also in Espoo or Hyvinkää and partially remotely.

Your daily tasks will include:

Designing and developing a GenAI chat prototype integrated with Konecranes.com
Researching and evaluating different LLM frameworks and APIs suitable for customer service applications
Creating a functional proof-of-concept demonstrating key features like product inquiries
Implementing natural language processing to understand customer intent and provide relevant responses
Integrating chat interface with existing web infrastructure
Documenting technical architecture, implementation decisions, and recommendations for production deployment
Presenting your prototype and findings to stakeholders at the end of the summer

What kind of talent are we looking for?

This role is ideal for a student, who is passionate about AI and communication and is eager to learn more about the field. You are welcome at Konecranes as yourself, but we especially appreciate good teamwork skills, a brisk attitude and enthusiasm for learning. Our work community is international, so it is important to have fluent knowledge of English in the position.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, AI/Machine Learning, or related field
Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and LLM technologies (OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI, open-source models)
Interest in natural language processing and conversational AI
Good communication skills in English
But most importantly, ability to work independently, take initiative and have a positive attitude

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of prompt engineering and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
