Overview:

The Summer Intern will work directly with the VP of Product Strategy, the Sr. Director of Product Development, and the Product Manager to support key activities across the product lifecycle. Throughout the internship, the intern will gain practical experience in product strategy, product development, and product management while building foundational knowledge of the data center industry and data center products.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Support for Product Strategy

  • Assist in gathering and organizing market, customer, and competitive intelligence relevant to data center products and services.
  • Contribute to strategic analyses, including trend assessments and opportunity sizing.
  • Help prepare internal strategy materials, presentations, and briefs for cross-functional stakeholders.

2. Support for Product Development

  • Assist the Sr. Director of Product Development in coordinating deliverables, timelines, and documentation for active development projects.
  • Help document product requirements, technical inputs, and user stories.
  • Participate in project meetings, capturing notes, action items, and next steps.
  • Support cross-functional alignment between engineering, operations, and other contributing teams.

3. Support for Product Management

  • Assist the Product Manager with ongoing product performance tracking, including usage metrics, customer feedback, and operational indicators.
  • Help maintain and update product roadmaps, feature trackers, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to the preparation of product training materials, customer-facing collateral, and internal communication updates.
  • Participate in activities related to pricing, packaging, and product positioning.

Compensation:

Compensation for this role includes a base salary of $21.00/hr.

Learning Objectives:

During the internship, the intern will gain exposure to:

  • The data center industry, including facility operations, interconnection, cloud and network services, and customer use cases.
  • How products are ideated, validated, developed, launched, and iterated within the organization.
  • The roles and responsibilities within a product organization and how product teams collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, sales, and marketing.
  • Practical tools and frameworks used in product strategy and development (e.g., business case development, competitive analysis, product requirements, roadmapping).

Expected Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern will:

  • Have contributed to multiple active product initiatives.
  • Develop a working understanding of our product portfolio and the broader data center ecosystem.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze information, communicate insights, and support cross-functional coordination.
  • Build foundational skills relevant to future roles in product strategy, product management, or technology leadership.
