The role

We are seeking a Summer Program Assistant to provide on-site support for our Intro to VR class at Meta HQ. This role is designed to ensure seamless program operations, enhance the student experience, and support our instructors. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about education equity. As the key on-the-ground presence, you’ll help manage logistics, provide real-time support, and build meaningful connections with students and instructors to capture the impact of our programs.

You will report directly to the Director of Education. This role is in partnership with Meta’s Youth Summer Academy, hosted at Meta HQ.

This is a seasonal, summer-based, in-person role based in Menlo Park, CA, approximately 10-20 hours/week from June 4, 2026, through July 30, 2026.

Schedule

  • Mondays: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (In-person required)
  • Evenings and Fridays occasionally required
  • 10 - 20 hours/week

What you’ll be doing

Program support (70%)

  • Ensure smooth daily activities, such as program reminders
  • Facilitate a weekly team meeting with the Mission Bit classroom team
  • Track and manage attendance and student surveys
  • Facilitate student orientation and support instructor orientation
  • Relay important messages, deadlines, and logistics to instructors/students.
  • Communicate updates, challenges, and needs from instructors/students with appropriate staff members
  • Assist with classroom observations and ensure feedback is documented.
  • Work collaboratively with Mission Bit’s Education and Programs teams in planning, development, communication, and implementation of Mission Bit’s vision
  • Troubleshoot tech issues or other logistical concerns
  • Participate in and support Mission Bit activities

Administration (30%)

  • Regularly update internal documents with upcoming meetings, events, and activities so that staff have access to accurate information
  • Maintain cross-functional communication across teams to support common goals
  • Maintain accurate staff notes and communication
  • Write a weekly report on program activities
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements
