Study Moderator

TLDR

We are seeking tech-savvy, detail-oriented Study Moderators in the La Jolla area to support our on-site data collection study. Moderators will guide participants through a defined technical protocol, manage equipment setup, and data collection. This role involves working closely with participants to ensure smooth study execution, accurate data handling, and participant engagement.

 

Key responsibilities & duties: 

 

  • Conduct on-site participant sessions following strict research protocols
  • Interact with participants in a professional and supportive manner
  • Set up, operate, and monitor project-specific hardware and software (including cameras and computers), and troubleshoot issues in real-time
  • Double-check and confirm accuracy of participant measurements and data entries
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces and equipment
  • Help document processes and flag issues related to data quality or participant logistics

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced, on-site environment
  • Tech-savvy with solid working knowledge of computers, data entry, and digital tools
  • Strong familiarity with Mac (macOS) and iPhone (iOS), including ability to navigate settings and troubleshoot common issues
  • Troubleshoot participant device issues in real-time to ensure session continuity
  • Comfortable learning and executing detailed technical protocols with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, file naming, tracking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow protocols and adapt to changing processes
  • Reliable and punctual with a team-first attitude
  • Must be available to work on-site in La Jolla

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience running in-person research or data collection studies
  • Prior experience recruiting and scheduling participants for research studies preferred

 

Employment Terms

  • Start Date: April 10th
  • Location: La Jolla, CA
  • Work arrangement:100% on-site
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, primarily business hours
  • Employment type: Full-time at will (employed via EOR)
  • Project Duration: ~1 month (role tied to a short-term client project; continuation not guaranteed)
