Student SW Tester (Part-time position)

TLDR

Join a friendly and informal testing team, gaining mentorship in QA and AI-assisted testing while ensuring software quality in healthcare.

Student SW Tester (Part-time position) Surglogs is a healthtech startup that broke through the US market. We have managed to digitize processes for hundreds of surgery centers and hospitals in 49 states in the US.  Healthcare professionals and patient safety are crucial to us at Surglogs. Keeping it in mind led us to the most critical point: compliance. Our technology improves patient safety, transforms healthcare compliance operations, and frees up significant time for medical staff. About the position: Place of work: Remote - Slovakia or Czechia, or from our Bratislava office Remuneration:  8 - 10 EUR/h  Let our AI lead, Peter, tell you more about your role: Hi, our future SW Tester👋!  I’m Peter, the QA Lead at Surglogs! Our testing team is currently 4 members strong, and we’re looking for a motivated Junior to join our ranks. We are a friendly, informal bunch who value honesty, a good sense of humor, and a shared passion for breaking things (so we can fix them). I’ll be your mentor, helping you navigate the world of QA and AI-assisted testing. You will report directly to me and have all the responsibility and freedom you need. At Surglogs, we don't just 'check' software. We protect the digital backbone of healthcare facilities. 🩺 As a Junior QA, you'll be at the forefront of this mission. We aren't looking for someone who just follows a manual; we want a curious mind who will challenge our processes and grow with us. 🚀 My goal is to mentor you into a professional who knows how to leverage the best tools and AI-driven methodologies to ensure patient safety through software quality. What you’ll be working on after you start at Surglogs
  • Manual and API Testing: Executing test cases for our web and mobile applications, as well as testing our backend services through API testing, to ensure everything runs smoothly for healthcare professionals.
  • Bug Hunting and Reporting: Identifying inconsistencies and documenting them clearly in Jira. 🪲
  • Exploratory Testing: Thinking outside the box to find edge cases that scripted tests might miss.
  • AI Integration: You won't just be testing; you'll be learning how to use AI tools to generate test data, write reports, and optimize our testing workflows. 🤖
  • Collaboration: Working closely with developers and product managers to understand the "why" behind every feature.
  • You are a great fit if:
  • Growth Mindset: You don't know everything yet, and that's okay! You are hungry for knowledge, willing to work on yourself, and you pick up new concepts quickly. 🌻
  • AI Curiosity: You are comfortable using AI tools (such as Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT) in your daily life. 🤖 Knowing a bit about prompt engineering or how AI agents work is a huge plus, but we’ll teach you the rest!
  • Attention to Detail: You notice the small things others might miss.
  • Communication: You are proactive and not afraid to ask questions. Your English is solid (B2+) – enough to write clear bug reports and chat with our US colleagues.
  • Technical Interest: You have a general overview of how software works (knowing what "DevTools" are is a plus).
  • You are a full-time university student (ideally in the 2nd to 4th year of study) interested in long-term cooperation alongside your studies
  • Our Tech Stack (What you'll learn to use):
  • Web and Mobile Automation: Cypress, Playwright, Espresso, XCUITest
  • API and Scripting: Postman, pytest
  • Reporting and Management: ReportPortal, TestRail, Jira
