POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking motivated and skilled engineering co-op students to join our Production Engineering team as Student Designers. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting production processes, resolving engineering issues, and contributing to design improvement projects. The ECR (Engineering Change Request) function focuses on implementing and managing engineering changes to improve product design, quality, and manufacturability. You will work closely with experienced engineers to process ECRs, develop design solutions, and support the continuous improvement of New Flyer’s advanced transit bus products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Assist in design and engineering tasks related to production.
• Support the creation and modification of designs that meet customer specifications.
• Perform engineering calculations to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Collaborate on resolving production issues and updating documentation.
• Assist with cross-functional team collaboration on design-related matters.
• Participate in design reviews and testing activities.
• Provide technical support to production teams and other departments.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary engineering program and eligible for co-op placement.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g., Unigraphics/Siemens NX, AutoCAD) is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Previous manufacturing experience is an asset.
