Work Summary:

Natilus is seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will conduct detailed structural analysis of composite and metallic airframe components using FEA methods to assess component performance, fatigue life, durability, and support vehicle-level analysis and configuration management activities


Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform stress analysis on composite and metallic airframe components, including sizing of detail parts and assessing the strength of primary and secondary aircraft structures and systems.
  • Author and release analysis documentation.
  • Own and develop airframe level models and analysis.
  • Assess new and existing designs by performing strength analysis, supporting drawing release, and preparing analysis reports.
  • Evaluate and compare structural efficiency and weight for different structural arrangements and concepts through analysis and trade studies.
  • Provide input for structural tests, including test requirements, loads, and predicted results

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of directly related work experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with structural analysis of primary and secondary airframe structure
  • Experience with composite and metallic analysis
  • Proficiency in NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks
  • Experience planning and executing various system tests
  • Understanding of Part 23 requirements
