The Logistics Strategy & Operations team is responsible for the performance, reliability, and pricing of shipping on Whatnot. In this role, you will:
Help define the operating model and strategy to enable scalable, high-quality logistics across all of Whatnot's markets
Own carrier performance and pricing health, monitoring key metrics, managing rate structures, and driving accountability with external carrier partners
Lead operational response to shipping disruptions, building scalable processes and playbooks that ensure fast, reliable resolution for buyers and sellers
Inform the product and technology roadmap, translating operational pain points into prioritized requirements for Product and Engineering
Shape carrier network strategy, evaluating coverage gaps, managing vendor relationships, and recommending updates as Whatnot scales into new categories and geographies
Partner cross-functionally with BD, Finance, Product, and Operations as a strategic thought partner, providing data-driven recommendations to inform shipping decisions
Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our New York, San Francisco, Phoenix, or Los Angeles hubs.
Curious about who thrives at Whatnot? We’ve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here. As our next Logistics Strategy & Operations team member, you should have 8–10 years of experience in strategy and operations roles (e.g., consulting, finance, logistics, supply chain, carrier operations), plus:
Demonstrated success developing and executing strategies that drive scalable, high-quality operations. Direct experience with logistics operations and multi-market shipping networks is a strong plus.
Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and design scalable processes, systems, and operating models. You default to repeatable systems over one-off solutions.
Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights into clear recommendations and decisions. Proficiency in SQL or analytics platforms (e.g., Looker, Sigma, Hex).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.
Comfort with ambiguity and speed. You've operated in high-growth environments where the playbook didn't exist yet, and you wrote it anyway.
