Strategy & Growth Internship, SumUp Lending – Berlin 

At SumUp, we empower small business owners with accessible financial tools – and Lending is a critical part of that mission. Our Lending Tribe is focused on helping merchants get the capital they need to grow. As we scale, we’re seeking a highly motivated intern to support strategic growth initiatives, especially in Europe. You’ll work alongside the Growth Lead for Lending in Europe to bring data-driven experiments to life and make sure the right merchants get the right offers. 

What you’ll do

• Conduct qualitative research and sales calls to understand user feedback and test sales strategies 
• Support the design, setup, and analysis of lending experiments to improve conversion rates
• Assist in strategic high priority projects like identifying promising merchant segments by analyzing performance and behavioral data using AI 
• Support on fund raising activities like performance reporting 
• Help execute operational tasks and ensure experiments and projects run smoothly

You’ll be great for this role if

• You’re currently studying business, economics, data science or a related field with outstanding academic track record 
• You have previous experience from a similar internship in a fintech, consulting or investment banking environment 
• You’re an excellent communicator and enjoy collaborating with international teams and customers alike 
• You thrive in high intensity environment
• You have strong analytical skills and feel comfortable working with data in Excel or Google Sheets (SQL is a plus).
• You’re proactive, curious, and not afraid to dive into complex topics like lending and credit
• You’re fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
