Strategic Operations - COO Office

Ajaib Group is a startup born in Silicon Valley and backed by global top tier VCs like Softbank, Y Combinator, Ribbit, DST and others. We became a unicorn start up in 2021 (valuation over $1 billion) and a first Fintech unicorn in Southeast Asia. We are on a mission to empower the next generation of investors. As a unicorn-status fintech company, Ajaib provides access to a wide range of financial products—from stocks and mutual funds to bonds, crypto, and digital banking services. Our fast-growing ecosystem is supported by a team of passionate builders, technologists, and operators solving real problems in finance and wealth creation.

We are seeking a highly driven and analytically strong operator to join the COO Office at Ajaib Group. This role is designed for a strategic and execution-oriented leader who will work closely with the COO and Co-Founders on high-impact initiatives across revenue-generating businesses as well as cross-functional process improvement.

The role provides visibility into how different verticals operate, from data analytics / business intelligence to product to operations. It is ideal for someone looking to eventually lead a full business stream within Ajaib—either existing or new.

  • Partner with the COO to lead and support key strategic initiatives across Ajaib's business lines and central teams (e.g. Business Intelligence, Finance, FinOps, and Ops).
  • Drive cross-functional projects that optimize performance, revenue, or efficiency across core and new businesses.
  • Act as the connective tissue between BI/Data, Product, Ops, and Finance—translating insights into action and action into measurable outcomes.
  • Build and iterate on scalable processes, reporting dashboards, and decision-making frameworks to enable fast growth and alignment.
  • Lead market or business deep-dives, support internal problem-solving, and develop recommendations directly to the COO and founders.
  • Be a trusted right hand to the leadership team—able to “zoom in” to fix operational bottlenecks and “zoom out” to think strategically about growth, performance, and sustainability.
  • Build a strong case to eventually take ownership of a business P&L—showing leadership, business acumen, and execution at scale.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of total work experience, with at least 3 years in a Data Analytics / Business Intelligence-focused role in a technology company.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Finance or Operations, or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
Chartered Financial Analyst or CFA Level 1 or higher passed is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of solving complex, ambiguous problems in fast-paced environments—preferably in high-growth tech, fintech, or startup ecosystems.
  • Exceptional analytical skills; fluent in using data to drive decision-making, with a strong grasp of dashboards, SQL, and data visualization tools.
  • A self-starter who can take initiative with little direction, while navigating fluid and high-stakes business contexts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—you can influence across functions, levels, and working styles.
  • Comfortable managing both strategic projects and operational firefighting—no task is too big or small.
  • A future P&L owner mindset: entrepreneurial, curious, commercially savvy, and committed to long-term impact.

We’ve been experiencing hyper-growth the past year, becoming Indonesia’s 7th Unicorn Startup and the first Investment Fintech Unicorn in South East Asia merely 2,5 years after Ajaib first launched. With the global financial technology market expected to grow gradually, we aim to make stock trading accessible for millennials through our mobile-first approach. In 2022, we opened our new head office in the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building, and we’re just getting started! The three principles or what we call as 3DNAs became the foundation and sets the guideline for the Magician belief system: Everyone is an owner, Growth Mindset, and A Will to Win.
