About G2’s Intern Program

G2’s Intern Program is back for its 5th amazing summer! You’ll work closely with leaders and peers throughout the 10 weeks- focusing on making a real impact on G2, with a final presentation about your work to our Executive & Senior Leadership Teams.  We’ve packed the summer full of professional development and social events to lay the foundation for your career, ensuring you’ll have a balanced experience over the course of the 10 weeks.

 

G2 Intern Program Details

  • 10 weeks: June 2nd - August 8th 
  • Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday required in-person at our Downtown Chicago HQ
  • Pay: $20/hour; 40 hours a week 

 

About The Role

As a  Summer Intern within the Office of the CEO you will be joining a team which spearheads strategic initiatives and works cross-functionally with G2 teams. You will develop a deep understanding of G2’s business and our unique datasets. The ideal candidate is self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity, and capable of driving complex analyses. 

As a Summer Intern within the Product Marketing team, you will be able to see how new innovations are researched, differentiated, delivered and tracked for market success. You will gain exposure to the launch process, product differentiation and success metrics driven by data and informing pricing and packaging decisions. The ideal candidate uses research and data to inform strategic product decisions. 

The role will report to the Chief of Staff for the CEO and Product Marketing and have the ability to make a significant impact on the company from day one. You will have influence on strategic projects, gathering, analyzing, and presenting data findings and solutions to the leaders within the organization. You will have access to AI tools and be encouraged to help our teams drive innovation and productivity through regularly using AI in your work. You’ll also collaborate with teams from across the organization. 

As a member of the combined Office of the CEO and Product Marketing teams you will primarily be working on the following projects: 

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to establish and automate G2 product performance reporting to evaluate product-related churn reasons and market fit for our pricing and packaging. The data and insights will enable data-driven product performance decisions, inform leadership teams, and drive strategic decisions on enablement, sales, and necessary product changes. This role will produce memos/decks summarizing data findings and recommendations for product or go-to-market strategy changes.
  • Support product marketing positioning in competitive research, win/loss analysis, technology ecosystems, customer feedback and market potential for G2 offerings - which will complement current pricing and packaging work while also informing strategic initiatives and growth opportunities. 

You will also be expected to assist the Office of the CEO with ongoing responsibilities and special projects. These tasks may include monthly company reporting, category strategy performance tracking, and other projects as they arise. This role will require flexibility and a willingness to work on a variety of high-impact and time-sensitive projects. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly organized and adaptable, and will possess the ability to utilize both soft and hard skills to find solutions to unique problems.

We are open to candidates from any major, but expect those with a business background (minor or major) to be best fit for the role. 

 

Requirements

  • A rising Junior or Senior at an accredited college or university 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High competency in working with big data sets, consolidating from multiple sources and turning into insights
  • Ability to conduct research independently to support a variety of company initiatives
  • Highly conscientious- demonstrates attention to detail and concern for accuracy
  • Excellent organization skills (email, task management, follow-up)
  • Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively and independently, delivering on assigned tasks and responsibilitie
