Strategic Asset Management Advisor

Shape and improve asset management practices while acting as a subject matter expert in asset information systems across the organization.

He angituutanga: The opportunity 

Reporting to the Improvement and Systems Lead within our Asset Strategy and Information Team, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how we manage and understand our assets. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and improve asset management practices across the organisation.

As the subject matter expert for our asset management system (IPS/INFOR) you’ll champion its effective use, guide colleagues in best‑practice application, and ensure the system continues to evolve to meet organisational needs. Your expertise will enable us to build maturity in our asset management business processes.

Working collaboratively with colleagues from all areas, you’ll make sure our asset information, tools, and systems are practical, reliable, and genuinely useful for decision‑making. Your insight will help us get the best value from our data and support the effective management of our assets.

As a key asset management influencer within the Council, you’ll build strong, positive relationships and engage proactively with teams and stakeholders. Your ability to connect with others, share ideas, and champion good practice will be essential as we continue to develop a consistent and forward‑thinking approach to asset management.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Five years’ experience in Asset Management with at least three years’ experience in asset information systems.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A proven track record of thinking differently, acting with integrity, working together and making it happen.
  • Working knowledge of Infor IPS asset management system.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading specific asset management improvements within large organisations.
  • Sound knowledge of asset management financial processes and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach asset managers and to be able to explain asset management practices and processes.

  • Ability to work independently and influence other parts of the organisation through collaborative working and positive relationships.
