OVERVIEW

We are seeking a seasoned and senior level store design leader who will lead the architectural design process for ALO’s company owned projects across APAC. 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead the development and local design management of 10-15 projects per year in APAC.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning in market and ensure design quality and operational efficiencies for market entry.
  • Lead landlord communications as it relates to handover conditions, design guidelines, approvals and project start up.
  • Assist with real estate queries, reviews and pre-lease/lease negotiations related to design and construction.
  • Provide feasibility, site analysis and test fits for potential store locations.
  • Develop project/region specific details and specifications.
  • Source, onboard and manage external consultants on the execution of site surveys, pre-design, design development, construction documents and construction administration, ensuring that all documents and deliverables meet ALO brand standards, architectural quality standards, landlord and project specific requirements.
  • Actively manage cross functional internal partnerships, presenting/communicating designs, incorporating feedback, and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure designs meet ALO Brand Standards.
  • Ensure designs meet established project timelines and project budgets.
  • Assist the construction team on the project bidding and selection process.
  • Assist the construction team on any requests for information or issues that come up during the course of construction.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for design conformance.
  • Provide on site observations and quality control assurance throughout the course of construction.
  • Partner with Store Development team on project closeout and snagging.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor and/or Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional and extensive architectural design and project management experience on a variety of sized retail programs throughout APAC, with a proven track record on large scale and complex projects.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional management experience in leading teams with significant and relevant brand experience.
  • Proficiency in Autocad, Sketchup/3D modeling software, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel and Project.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of local codes, permit requirements and store development workflows on both large scale and small scale projects.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align designs with company goals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of real estate and construction.
  • Passion for design and a commitment to design excellence.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficient.
  • Fluent in Mandarin.
