Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Storage Automation SME to lead automation strategy and delivery across SAN, NAS, and DPS platforms, enabling compliant, repeatable, and observable storage provisioning for OpenShift and Kubernetes workloads. This role owns automation patterns, tooling, and CI/CD integration for enterprise storage services while embedding security, observability, and standardisation across environments.

What you will do:

  • Lead automation strategy and delivery across SAN, NAS, and DPS platforms.
  • Design policy-driven, API-first storage automation using Ansible, Python, and Terraform.
  • Build reusable modules for provisioning LUNs, file shares, snapshots, replication, and migration.
  • Integrate storage automation with CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, Tekton, and GitHub Actions.
  • Integrate with ITSM and CMDB processes to ensure change control and audit readiness.
  • Embed security practices including RBAC, secrets management, and encryption.
  • Embed observability through metrics, logs, and traces for storage services.
  • Standardise runbooks and documentation for repeatable operational practices.
  • Enable engineering squads through knowledge sharing and enablement sessions.
  • Strong experience with Ansible, Python, and Terraform in storage automation environments.
  • Knowledge of SAN, NAS, and DPS platforms including Dell EMC, Pure, NetApp, Data Domain, Cisco, and Brocade.
  • Understanding of CSI, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and GitOps practices.
  • Experience working in regulated environments with audit and compliance requirements.
