Access Services is seeking to hire a high-energy and self-motivated Starting Point Intern to join our Starting Point  Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation program in Montgomery County. The Starting Point program offers support to individuals in the unique model of Psych Rehab, serving those with a mental health diagnosis, to reach their own, personally identified goals. People need extra help to get back on their feet, find a place to live, and become a part of community life. Our behavior health support team meets with individuals in their own spaces to help them on their recovery journey.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm (With flexibility on evenings required based on the needs of individuals served)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build rapport and effectively engage with individuals about their life goals and barriers to recovery.
  • Drive to and meet with individuals in homes and community locations.
  • Collaborate with the individual being served and the Starting Point team to develop, implement, update and review treatment plans that are recovery-oriented, strengths-based, and person-centered.
  • Collaborate with individual being served to develop successful strategies for identifying, achieving, and maintaining goals in four key areas: living, learning, working, and socializing.
  • Maintain accurate and current case documentation in an electronic health record.
  • Support individuals to find and use resources and supports in their community.

Requirements

Internship Hours:

  • A minimum of 16 hours/weekly is preferred; Available internship hours range from 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

Requirements

 Qualifications of a Starting Point Intern:

  • Valid driver’s license with 2+ years of driving experience, reliable vehicle, and adequate car insurance (required)
  • No Driver’s License suspensions in the last 48 months

Required Transportation:

  • Name of intern must be listed on auto insurance policy for vehicle used
  • Intern must be over 18, with two years of prior driving experience
  • Intern must pass background check related to Driving Motor Vehicle history

Required Clearances, to be completed before first day of internship, including:

  • FBI Clearance
  • DMV Driving History Report
  • PA Criminal Clearance
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • Physical

Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands:  

  • Walk, climb stairs by self  
  • Work in a standard office environment.  
  • Utilize desktop computer equipment daily.  
  • Able to lift or move items associated with sedentary work and light work (exert up to 20 lbs.)  

Benefits

  • Rate of $15/hour
