Boone Power is looking for a Staking Technician. 

The Staking Technician is responsible for planning, marking, and designing new and existing electric distribution circuits in addition to single-phase and three-phase electric services. The primary tasks include surveying the site, staking the poles and creating design documents for new services and system upgrades. The Staking Technician also helps with updating the GIS mapping system with the staking information and collaborating with the system engineering team on the system design.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Operations.

  • High school degree with 5 years of experience is required.
  • Engineering Technology Degree or a Building Construction Management Degree is preferred.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users. 
  • Requires “hands-on” field work that includes on-site project staking in various outdoor environments.  
  • Requires attention to detail and a desire to solve a wide variety of problems.
  • Ability to manage a project from inception to completion while coordinating with all parties, including but not limited to our membership, property owners, builders, city and county officials, and contractors.
