Job Description:
Shield AI is hiring a Senior Web Designer to lead the visual design, structure, and ongoing evolution of our corporate website. In this role, you will own the design of web experiences across marketing, product, and recruiting pages, translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, and on-brand digital storytelling. You will define and maintain web design systems, layouts, and interaction patterns that elevate the Shield AI brand globally. This is a high-impact role for a design-driven creative who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment and collaborates closely with creative, content, and engineering partners to bring designs to life.
What you'll do:
Own the visual design and user experience of the Shield AI website across all pages, templates, and digital touchpoints
Design and ship high-impact landing pages, campaign microsites, and interactive web content using Figma
Translate complex technical and product concepts into clear, compelling, and on-brand web experiences
Define and maintain scalable web design systems, templates, and component libraries in partnership with creative and engineering teams
Ensure designs follow best practices for usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and performance across devices
Collaborate closely with developers to ensure design intent is executed accurately and efficiently
Provide design guidance and feedback on web best practices to elevate quality and consistency across digital experiences
Required qualifications:
10+ years of experience in web and digital design, with ownership of large-scale or high-visibility websites
Strong portfolio showcasing responsive, design-forward websites with clear UX, visual hierarchy, and brand storytelling
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto layout, prototyping, and design systems
Deep understanding of UX/UI best practices, responsive design, and designing for accessibility across devices
Experience designing within CMS-based environments such as WordPress, WP Engine, Webflow, or similar platforms
Ability to collaborate closely with developers, understanding technical constraints without owning implementation
Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to balance creative vision and business goals
Preferred qualifications:
Experience designing websites for enterprise SaaS, defense, aerospace, or emerging technology companies
Familiarity with motion and interactive design concepts for the web (e.g., animation principles, Lottie-ready assets)
Experience designing multi-page, campaign-driven, or global websites with scalable layout systems
Exposure to design tokens or systematized theming across brand and digital platforms
Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
Experience collaborating on global or multi-region sites with localized content considerations
