We are searching for talented and passionate people who want to help shape the future of veterinary care.

About the Role:

This role is scoped at the Senior or Staff level depending on experience, impact, and ownership. Vetcove is looking for a UX Researcher to drive discovery and product definition for high-impact, complex product areas. This role goes beyond traditional research execution and is deeply involved in shaping what we build, how we build it, and why. You will use user insight, data, and systems thinking to define product strategy, clarify requirements, and guide teams toward the right solutions.

This is a highly embedded, hands-on role with significant ownership over product direction. You’ll lead discovery efforts, frame problem spaces, define success metrics, and translate insight into clear product scope and specifications. Working closely with engineering and design, you’ll balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals to deliver scalable solutions used daily by veterinary professionals.

About the Team:

We are a fast-moving, highly collaborative product organization building software that supports the operational backbone of veterinary clinics. Our products span complex workflows, integrations, and systems, requiring strong product judgment, cross-functional alignment, and clear decision-making.

Senior UX Researchers at Vetcove are embedded directly within product teams and operate as core contributors to product strategy and execution. They play a critical role in discovery, prioritization, and definition, helping teams determine the highest-impact problems to solve and guiding solutions from early concept through production and iteration.

What You’ll Do

  • Own discovery, research, and problem definition for assigned product areas, identifying high-impact opportunities and shaping product direction

  • Partner with product and engineering to define product strategy, scope, and success metrics grounded in user needs and business goals

  • Lead mixed-methods research across the product lifecycle, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, behavioral analysis, and post-launch validation

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear product recommendations, tradeoffs, and priorities

  • Translate insights into concrete product artifacts, including requirements, user flows, wireframes, interaction models, and acceptance criteria

  • Drive alignment across design, engineering, and stakeholders by clearly articulating problems, rationale, and proposed solutions

  • Use analytics, experimentation, and qualitative signals to evaluate outcomes and guide iteration and roadmap decisions

  • Balance user experience, technical feasibility, and delivery considerations when shaping solutions

  • Contribute to evolving product discovery, research practices, and documentation as the organization scales

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a closely related field

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, product design, product discovery, or a closely related role

  • Demonstrated ownership over problem definition and solution direction for complex, production software products

  • Strong ability to synthesize qualitative research, quantitative data, and business context into clear product recommendations and priorities

  • Proven experience translating insight into product requirements, user flows, wireframes, and detailed specifications

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving clarity across multiple stakeholders and competing constraints

  • Technical fluency and experience collaborating closely with engineering on system design, feasibility, and tradeoffs

  • Experience using product analytics, experimentation, and behavioral data to evaluate outcomes and inform iteration

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate decisions, rationale, and tradeoffs to cross-functional partners

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, concurrent initiatives with a high degree of ownership

  • Experience with tools such as Figma, Posthog, FullStory, or similar research, analytics, and product platforms
