MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated technical product owner engineer to help development our high performance compute architecture solutions and drive ideas from concept through implementation. In this role Product Owner will be responsible for synchronizing objectives from internal Mercedes-Benz customers with the Mercedes-Benz and Supplier engineering teams.
Successful candidates will operate in an agile environment, strive to continuously improve their products and processes, while enabling and enhancing the output of engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of SoC Product: drive and support development teams to realize the System-on-Chip (SoC) solution meeting performance objectives of future vehicle architectures. Must guide development while keeping input from software and hardware teams in mind.
  • Facilitate cross-organizational work: ensure seamless communications and collaboration across an international, cross-organizational project team which includes Mercedes-Benz Suppliers and the Mercedes-Benz carlines.
  • Specifications, Requirements & backlog: Partner with business stakeholders to gather/translate requirements, align key product decisions/considerations, and ensure the creation and maintenance of product documentation for ease of comprehension and usage by business stakeholders. Finally, work with Tech Lead to maintain the product backlog.
  • Project Health Assessment: Continually assess project health, risks, quality of deliveries and anticipate and address issues before they become a problem. For most critical risks have countermeasures and mitigation plans available.
  • Mercedes-Benz Network: Represent MBRDNA in external exchanges as you will be exposed to the best of the semiconductor industry. You will get to work with some of the best architecture teams on the planet as we are cooperating with a large spectrum of architects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields (Self-made persons are welcome, please indicate your professional experience to equal)
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Agile development methodologies, i.e., Scrum/Agile
  • Experience with agile organizations and international teams
  • Flexibility to work across time zones is a must
  • Prior work experience in the semiconductor or electronics product development industry
  • Ability to create technical product specifications and translate those into leading edge implementations
  • Technical Leadership skills with ability to influence and negotiate and when conflicts arise capable of reaching effective conflict resolutions
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication (written and verbal) skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Autonomous or Driver Assistance Systems
  • Good understanding of modern semiconductor processes
  • Understanding of functional safety (ISO26262) concepts and requirements as applied to silicon

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related education, skills, and experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $135,000-$168,800.
