Our group leads product strategy for Cruise's core technology - the software that runs on Cruise's vehicles enabling them to drive autonomously and safely. We chart the course toward launching and scaling our AVs globally, and are responsible for leading the company to fulfill this mission by partnering closely with engineering, data science, program, operations and commercial teams. As a Staff Technical Product Manager, AV Expansion in autonomous vehicle software, you will be responsible for owning the strategy and outcomes for one of our key company objectives. You will focus on solving problems globally, optimizing across various areas (like perception, prediction, simulation, planning) within Cruise's AV software stack to enable autonomous driving capabilities on the road.
Cruise just launched a driverless service in San Francisco, Austin and Phoenix and we’re looking at expanding the service and offerings to new markets. You will be helping us get there: defining key pieces of our technical strategy to expand to these markets and increasing the efficiency of technical solutions in our current markets to set the groundwork for scaling.
This product area will span delivery, ridehail solutions and the introduction of the Origin, our purpose built autonomous vehicle with no steering wheel.
You will serve as a leader within our AV expansion strategy, evolving our innovation practice as we go to market. Collaborating broadly across engineering departments, you'll apply cutting-edge technology to increase the AV driving safety and quality across geo-spatial domains and scene contexts.
Define the vision, strategy and roadmap for your product areas; applying extensive knowledge in complex technical products to set direction in a research setting with significant experimentation.
Communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions clearly across a wide spectrum of audiences from internal customers to executives.
Synthesize technical and analytical insights into PRDs and requirements that provide partners with a clear understanding of what to do and why.
Lead executives and key partners through sophisticated decisions to drive progress toward our strategic goals.
Partner closely with Engineering, Program management, Data Science, Commercial operations, Systems Engineering and Consumer Product to define goals and the roadmap needed to reach them.
Identify and lead improvements to the team's innovation and approach enabling us to scale our team and impact.

Ability to lead with multi-functional communication and collaboration skills
6+ years of product management experience delivering highly impactful and innovative products at scale
Experience leading product development from zero to first release and beyond
Ability to generate crucial product insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis
In-depth knowledge of modern software development and machine learning engineering practices
Outstanding communication skills: verbal and written, with engineers, non-technical partners, and executives
Thrive in ambiguity, crafting simplicity and order
Creativity and curiosity: you're driven to find novel solutions and push forward an entire industry
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience
The salary range for this position is $193,900 - 285,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
Through our partnerships with General Motors and Honda, we are the only self-driving company with fully integrated manufacturing at scale.
