THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our CIA Platform Team in Brazil! This is a Remote – Brazil position, meaning you can work from anywhere within the country. Please note that this role is only open to candidates in Brazil. 

At the CIA FA team, we build the platform where all organizations can implement and manage their wellbeing strategy, helping to make every company a Wellness company, while generating a positive impact on their business. Our team is a multidisciplinary group composed of engineers, a Product Manager, and a Product Designer. Together, we’re responsible for delivering a robust and user-friendly platform tailored to the needs of our enterprise clients.

As a Staff Software Engineer in the CIA Platform Team, you will act as a hands-on technical leader, driving the evolution of our platform foundations. You will help define and elevate observability standards, cost-efficiency practices, and platform reliability and scalability. This includes proactively identifying bottlenecks, assessing systemic risks, and leading improvements that enable the platform to sustainably support current and future product needs. You will also partner closely with the team to maintain a prioritized technical debt roadmap and a clear architectural view of platform components, balancing short-, mid-, and long-term investments to improve maintainability, performance, and developer experience.

In addition to your platform responsibilities, you will support product teams when needed, particularly in moments of higher uncertainty or technical complexity. You will help teams navigate architectural challenges, unblock critical initiatives, and occasionally contribute hands-on to projects and cross-team efforts. Through close collaboration with product teams, you will help ensure delivery timelines are met and that platform standards and best practices are consistently applied across the organization.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experienced in architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications, with high availability and scalability;
  • Experienced in designing and developing complex modern web applications;
  • Experienced in Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP);
  • Experienced in developing RESTful web services collaborating with front-end teams to create mocks, define payloads and follow the HTTP best practices;
  • Experienced in applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis;
  • Experienced in working with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages (Go/Java/Kotlin/Scala/Python/etc.). Golang will be considered a plus;
  • Communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams located in several countries with different cultures;
  • You need to be able to articulate ideas clearly when speaking to groups in English.
