We are seeking a Staff Engineer – Applied AI to join our AI & Automation Engineering team in India. In this role, you’ll design, build, and scale AI-powered solutions that transform how our employees work and how our business operates. You’ll focus on applied AI use cases that deliver measurable business outcomes, while also shaping the underlyingplatforms and frameworks that make AI development faster, safer, and more reliable across the company.

As a senior individual contributor, you’ll collaborate closely with peers in the US and India, partnering with product managers, designers, and platform engineers. You’ll act as both a technical expert driving standards, mentoring engineers, and setting the bar for what great AI engineering looks like.

What you will do :

Design and deliver Applied AI solutions: Build end-to-end systems that leverage LLMs, ML models, retrieval pipelines, and integrations with enterprise data.
Shape technical direction: Define best practices for reliability, security, and scalability in AI-powered applications.
Partner across teams: Collaborate with platform engineers, data teams, and product managers to accelerate AI adoption across functions such as GTM, support, operations, and finance.
Mentor and elevate others: Provide guidance and code reviews, and influence architecture beyond your immediate team.
Contribute to platform foundations: Improve reusable components (RAG frameworks, prompt management, vector search, orchestration layers) that raise the baseline for AI engineering.
Evaluate and integrate emerging tech: Experiment with new AI/ML techniques, libraries, and vendor offerings, translating innovation into practical enterprise value.

What we are looking for:

Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with at least 2+ years in AI/ML, Applied AI, or data-intensive systems.
Expertise in Applied AI: Hands-on experience with LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and model integration into production systems.
Programming skills: Proficiency in Python (preferred), plus experience with TypeScript/JavaScript or other modern languages.
System design: Strong background in designing distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
Enterprise mindset: Familiarity with compliance, security, and data governance requirements in enterprise AI deployments.
Leadership without authority: Ability to influence cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and set long-term technical direction.
Collaboration skills: Comfortable working across geographies (India, US) with excellent communication skills.

Nice to have:

Contributions to AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face, etc.).
Experience with enterprise integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, Workato, Zapier, RPA).
Prior experience in high-scale SaaS or enterprise technology companies.
