Key Responsibilities:
- Lead security reviews and risk assessments for new products, services, and business initiatives in Taiwan, enabling secure and timely launches across app‑first e‑commerce and logistics platforms.
- Own and drive Taiwan‑wide security engineering initiatives that raise the security baseline at scale and influence security practices across regional and global Coupang organizations.
- Proactively identify security gaps across data protection, infrastructure, applications, and internal processes; perform deep root‑cause analysis and implement long‑term remediation strategies.
- Partner with Global Digital Trust teams to support incident response, insider threat investigations, threat intelligence actions, vulnerability remediation, and third‑party security assessments.
- Work closely with engineering, IT, data, and product teams to ensure security controls are built into system design, development, and operations from day one.
- Translate complex security risks into clear, actionable recommendations, enabling teams to prioritize effectively and move with urgency in a fast‑growing environment.
- Influence technical decision‑making by providing security architecture guidance that balances customer experience, delivery speed, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security standards, tooling, and metrics aligned with Coupang’s customer‑first and “WOW” culture.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience in security engineering, including leading or designing large‑scale security solutions across cross‑functional teams.
- Deep technical expertise in defensive security domains such as data protection, application security, cloud or infrastructure security, and incident response.
- Proven ability to assess risk, decompose complex security problems, and deliver practical, scalable solutions in high‑growth environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence engineers, product managers, and business leaders.
- Demonstrated ownership, bias for action, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, results‑driven culture.
- Experience working with global or regional teams across different time zones is highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security‑related certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Experience supporting security programs for e‑commerce, logistics, payments, or large‑scale consumer platforms.
- Familiarity with regulatory and privacy requirements relevant to Taiwan and Japan (e.g., data protection, cross‑border data handling).
- Experience driving security initiatives that balance compliance, customer experience, and business velocity.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both languages.
- Prior experience influencing security strategy at a regional or organizational level.
