AI overview

Influence campaign strategies and decisions by conducting deep analyses on promotional performance and uncovering trends that drive financial insights.

At Underdog, we make sports more fun.

Our thesis is simple: build the best products and we’ll build the biggest company in the space, because there’s so much more to be built for sports fans. We’re just over five years in, and we’re one of the fastest-growing sports companies ever, most recently valued at $1.3B. And it’s still the early days.

We’ve built and scaled multiple games and products across fantasy sports, sports betting, and prediction markets, all united in one seamless, simple, easy to use, intuitive and fun app.

Underdog isn’t for everyone. One of our core values is give a sh*t. The people who win here are the ones who care, push, and perform. If that’s you, come join us.

Winning as an Underdog is more fun.

This first-of-its-kind role at Underdog sits at the intersection of commercial promo strategy, CRM, and deep analytical insights. You’ll directly influence reinvestment strategy and campaign decisions by uncovering micro-level trends most teams don’t have time to explore.

About the role

  • Build an ongoing, high-trust partnership with finance, data science, analytics, and the Promos & CRM teams to ensure real-time insights flow into forecasting, segmentation, and commercial decisions.
  • Maintain frequent (often daily) data touchpoints across teams to identify performance trends and drive changes to forecast assumptions, segmentation logic, and model inputs.
  • Develop and own a comprehensive costing and promo spend overview across all promo types, ensuring campaign leads have visibility into run-rates, pacing, and opportunities to optimize spend.
  • Deliver daily and weekly readouts to CRM and commercial partners with recommendations on promotional dollar allocation and campaign strategy.
  • Lead the creation of a reinvestment evaluation framework that measures incremental value across segments, lifecycle stages, and geos to identify inefficiencies and guide strategy.
  • Conduct micro-level deep-dive analyses into promo performance to uncover root causes of drops in value, propose new segmentation cuts, and socialize insights across BI tools and reporting frameworks.
  • Build a strong understanding of all P&L line items impacting promo budget and translate commercial outcomes into actionable insights that influence strategy and planning.

Who you are

  • You have 8+ years of experience in revenue operations, marketing analytics, CRM insights, or a related strategic analytics role within OSB, DFS, Predictions Markets, or similar environments.
  • Experienced in data manipulation and analysis (4–6+ years) using tools such as spreadsheets, BI dashboards, and basic SQL or equivalent querying languages (SQL can be learned on the job).
  • Skilled at turning complex datasets into concise insights with 6+ years of experience building analyses, summarizing trends, and driving recommendations for commercial or marketing teams.
  • You have 5+ years partnering closely with finance, data science, analytics, or marketing stakeholders to drive shared decision-making.
  • Naturally curious, resilient in ambiguity, and energized by solving challenging analytical and strategic problems—especially in fast-moving, high-stakes environments like OSB or DFS.
  • Knowledgeable about online sports betting, fantasy sports, or predictions markets with 4–6+ years working in or adjacent to these industries, or the ability to quickly ramp through analogous experience.

Even better if you have

  • Hands-on experience with advanced analytics tooling, SQL, or statistical methods.
  • Background in promotional strategy, reinvestment modeling, or lifecycle segmentation.
  • Experience building reporting frameworks or collaborating with BI teams to evolve dashboards.
  • Prior work in a startup or high-growth environment where speed and experimentation are core to success.
