Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.
We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.
We are looking for a Staff Product Manager, Data Platform to own our data platform as a product and define a long-term, unified data strategy across the company. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, ML, and data, with end-to-end responsibility for how data is ingested, stored, queried, and made usable across multiple domains.
This role goes beyond building a robust data platform. This PM must understand how data becomes a strategic product lever in healthcare, how the right data directly powers better clinical workflows, higher-quality customer outcomes, and stronger ML-driven capabilities. Success requires deep empathy for healthcare use cases and the ability to connect platform decisions to concrete product and customer outcomes.
This is a senior, hands-on platform PM role for someone who can think strategically while staying close to technical execution. You will balance rapid experimentation and developer velocity with the reliability, performance, and scalability required of a foundational data platform.
The data platform underpins nearly every product we build. In this role, you will shape how data flows through the organization, enabling faster innovation while maintaining the trust, quality, and compliance required for healthcare-grade systems. Your decisions will have lasting impact on product velocity, data quality, and Abridge’s ability to scale new product capabilities.
Own the data platform roadmap and operate the platform as a first-class product.
Define and drive a unified data strategy across ingestion, retention, storage, querying.
Ensure platform decisions are grounded in healthcare use cases and translate directly into product leverage.
Make principled tradeoffs between flexibility for experimentation and the long-term needs of stability, performance, and maintainability.
Own product decisions for ingestion pipelines across multiple data types, including audio, EHR, and other future data sources.
Partner with engineering to design scalable, secure storage systems that support both current use cases and future healthcare products.
Define access and querying patterns that reliably power analytics, ML pipelines, and customer-facing features.
Set clear standards for data quality, reliability, latency, and availability across the platform.
Anticipate scale challenges as data volume, complexity, and usage grow across teams and products.
Ensure the platform meets enterprise-grade security, privacy, and compliance requirements inherent to healthcare.
Optimize for strong developer experience through clear abstractions, tooling, and documentation.
Reduce friction for product teams consuming data, enabling faster iteration and higher-quality features.
Actively gather feedback from internal users and evolve the platform to drive adoption and trust.
Work closely with platform and product engineering, infrastructure, and ML teams as a thought partner and decision-maker.
Collaborate effectively across engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing to align platform capabilities with strategic objectives.
Partner with Security, Compliance, Legal, and Product to ensure data capabilities align with regulatory and business needs.
Communicate complex technical concepts and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
7+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership of highly technical or platform products.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Experience seeing and implementing the big picture on platform enablement, serving an ecosystem of different personas, from internal developers to end users to platform partners
Strong technical knowledge and the ability to work closely with world-class engineering partners to devise strategies, solve for complex system interdependencies, and build performant and scalable solutions to serve customer facing applications
Prior experience building products from scratch, ideally in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
Direct experience as a Platform Product Manager owning data ingestion, data storage, and data querying systems.
Comfortable working deeply with system architecture, APIs, data models, and infrastructure tradeoffs.
Exposure to healthcare data, regulated environments, or compliance-driven systems.
