Accountabilities:
Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI-driven products and experimental features.
Own end-to-end delivery of prototypes and MVPs, balancing speed with maintainability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product managers, solution architects, and domain experts—to turn ambiguous ideas into functioning demos.
Build full-stack applications with usable frontends, robust backends, APIs, and integrations with third-party services.
Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) to support experimentation and validate concepts.
Make pragmatic trade-offs between prototyping and production readiness, defining criteria for when code should be hardened.
Communicate technical risks, feasibility, and achievable outcomes clearly across teams.
Requirements:
10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong record of shipping complex systems or features.
Full-stack development expertise:
Backend: Python and/or Go; API and service design experience.
Frontend: React or similar modern frameworks; able to build functional UI demos quickly.
Databases: Relational (PostgreSQL preferred) and at least one NoSQL solution.
Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS; CI/CD pipelines; observability and monitoring tools.
AI-assisted development: Familiarity using AI coding tools (e.g., Codex, ClaudeCode) to accelerate development.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred: Insurance domain knowledge, experience with life/annuity administration systems, GraphQL/gRPC, Docker/Kubernetes, or startup/labs environments.
