Staff Full-Stack Developer - Ecosystem Technology

TLDR

Help define the technical foundation for Cloudinary's Ecosystem Technology, influencing expansion through elegant and commercially meaningful software.

What you’ll do
  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications that connect Cloudinary with key external platforms and ecosystems

  • Lead technical execution for ecosystem products, including embedded apps, admin tools, integration services, and supporting platform components

  • Partner closely with product, design, partnerships, solutions, and go-to-market teams to translate market needs into high-quality software

  • Architect scalable backend services, APIs, and data flows that support ecosystem use cases and partner integrations

  • Build polished, reliable frontend experiences for merchants, partners, and internal users

  • Drive technical discovery and make pragmatic architectural decisions in ambiguous, early-stage product environments

  • Improve developer velocity by establishing patterns, frameworks, and reusable components across ecosystem applications

  • Ensure high standards for code quality, observability, performance, security, and maintainability

  • Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar through design reviews, implementation guidance, and hands-on collaboration

  • Contribute strategically to the team’s roadmap by identifying technical opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs early

  • What we’re looking for
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and shipping production-grade full-stack applications

  • Strong frontend experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React and Next.js

  • Strong backend experience designing APIs and services using modern server-side technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or similar

  • Experience building integrations with third-party platforms, SaaS products, or commerce ecosystems

  • Strong architectural judgment and the ability to balance speed, scalability, and maintainability

  • Experience working across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and prototyping to launch and iteration

  • Comfort operating in small, entrepreneurial teams where context may be incomplete and priorities evolve quickly

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • A product mindset and a strong bias toward solving real customer and partner problems
  • Nice to have
  • Experience building for commerce ecosystems such as Shopify

  • Experience with embedded apps, OAuth flows, app marketplaces, and partner-facing integrations

  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, event-driven systems, and integration middleware

  • Experience in media, DAM, e-commerce, or martech-related products

  • Experience acting as a technical lead without direct people management responsibility
