Your day-to-day responsibilities

    • Partner directly with engineering teams to identify delivery friction and improve flow in live software and hardware contexts
    • Design and implement practical improvements to tools, practices, and AI-enabled workflows, validating impact with meaningful metrics
    • Lead cross-domain initiatives that improve engineering performance, onboarding, and growth without relying on formal authority
    • Define and operationalize lightweight guidance such as golden paths, principles, and performance metrics that reflect how work actually happens at ICEYE

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

    • Staff-level experience as a software engineer with extensive hands-on delivery across varied contexts such as scale-ups, mature systems, or legacy environments
    • Proven ability to use AI tools pragmatically to accelerate engineering work and learning in real delivery settings
    • Strong systems thinking with experience identifying and addressing systemic bottlenecks in engineering workflows using performance and quality metrics
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team initiatives and influence through written proposals, RFCs, documentation, and presentations

Nice to haves:

    • Experience designing or improving developer experience, onboarding systems, or engineering performance frameworks
    • Experience evaluating buy versus build decisions and selecting scalable third-party tools
    • Experience working in high-autonomy environments within defense technology, deep tech, or other complex domains

Base salary range for this position is 7 500 - 9500 € per month (gross), depending on experience, and will be negotiated individually.
