Staff Data Scientist

TLDR

.About the Role:

  • As a Staff Data Scientist at  Crunchtime, you will be at the forefront of growing our analytics capabilities by helping our customers make better business decisions by analyzing and interpreting data. You are constantly curious about finding a deeper understanding of problems and can leverage tools to collect, organize, and develop deep learning models. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Mentor other engineers to ensure our product and team members are growing
  • Identify opportunities to improve in support of our product roadmap
  • Create ADRs, RFCs, and other supporting documents to ensure technical decisions are well-considered, clear, and recorded so we have context and trust in what we’re doing
  • Contribute directly on the Crunchtime platform, including predictive modeling and data driven decision making for internal and external stakeholders
  • Work in an agile environment, scoping work to enable tight feedback loops on what’s working and what’s not
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Eng Managers on plans for iterative improvements
  • Maximize long-term velocity and minimize risk by using and educating on TDD, CI and other DevOps best practices

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • 8+ years as a data scientist reporting analytics for different applications
  • Experience in a player/coach role, both leading development teams 
  • Experience with Snowflake, Python, and SQL

Preferred Skills: 

  • Specific experience with our tech (React, Django, Javascript, TypeScript, Python, SQL, NoSQL, Mobile Development, AWS, Terraform)
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Open source contributions

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, information systems, or related field.

Essential Physical & Mental Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Prolonged periods of typing and working at a computer
  • Ability to listen and speak over the phone or Zoom calls
  • High level of mental concentration and focus
